Email subscriptions
The early-access form is being configured to use a dedicated mailing-list manager. The current code supports either Kit, a managed provider, or a self-hosted Listmonk installation. This policy will name the selected production service before subscriptions are enabled. Mailing-list management credentials are never placed in browser code.
The list uses confirmation email. You must confirm that you control the address before receiving normal mail. Every marketing message will provide an unsubscribe method. Subscriber information is used to deliver requested book updates, articles, tools, and related site news; it is not sold.
Server and security information
The web host processes standard request information such as IP address, browser, requested URL, timestamps, and security events. Access is limited to operating and protecting the service, and these records are kept for about 90 days. See Analytics below for how the same records are used to count traffic. No security practice can promise that an internet service is invulnerable.
Affiliate links and external services
Affiliate and referral links send you to another company and may contain an identifier used to credit the referral. That company may use cookies or similar technology under its own policy. Financial accounts are opened and maintained with the provider, not this website.
Analytics
Traffic is measured from the web server's own access logs, using analytics software that runs on that same server. No analytics script, tracking pixel, cookie, fingerprinting code, or third-party analytics service is added to any page. Nothing is sent from your browser to an outside company, and there is nothing here for an ad blocker to block.
The logs contain the standard request record every web server writes: the URL requested, the time, the response status, the referring page, and your browser's user-agent string. IP addresses are anonymized before being stored for statistics — the last portion of the address is replaced with zeros — so a full visitor IP address is not retained in the analytics database. Raw logs are kept for about 90 days and then deleted.
The results are aggregate counts: page views, popular pages, referrers, browsers, and status codes. They are not used to build a profile of you, are not sold, and are not shared. The site still does not require an account to use its public calculators, and does not use behavioral advertising trackers.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe through any email or request help concerning subscription data by emailing shaun@shaungraham.com. Do not send account numbers, statements, passwords, tax records, or other sensitive financial documents by ordinary email.
Children
The site is intended for adults making personal-finance decisions and is not directed to children under 13. Please do not submit a child's information.
