About

I am not a finance guru. I am a technically minded person who made expensive mistakes.

I earned enough to make my money decisions consequential, discovered that a good salary is not an automatic escape plan, and started building the tools and explanations I wish I had earlier.

What belongs here

The useful parts of this site begin with something I actually did: moving cash, missing part of an employer match, buying an investment for the wrong reason, comparing two order workflows, or discovering that a retirement account was still sitting in cash.

Product documentation is used to verify what happened and explain the limits. It is not a substitute for trying the product. When I have not tested a feature, the article should say so.

What does not belong here

I do not sell individualized investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice. I do not promise a stock, strategy, bank, brokerage, or early-retirement date will work for someone whose complete circumstances I do not know.
